BASIL YEO @basilyeo
Managing Director | Writer/Director/Cinematographer | Click here for full CV

Basil is a Singaporean filmmaker. Having grown up on a healthy diet of American and Hong Kong films, he is fuelled by an active desire to blend the best of both cultures in his craft, while keeping an intrinsic sense of local identity. While he holds a lifelong fascination with the immense world-building possibilities of the fictional narrative, his background as a freelance journalist brings out the occasional desire to explore the veracious landscape of documentaries. He is somewhat of a caffeine addict and loves to discuss and explore ideas over a cup of coffee (sometimes tea).

Apart from his duties at the company, he is also currently pursuing a degree in Digital Filmmaking to further develop his skills as a creative media practitioner.

Kim has a strong love for filmmaking, and believes in a lifelong pursuit to achieve new heights in the craft, which entails equipping himself with the adequate technical know-how by keeping in touch with the current industry trends and also nurturing a sustained desire for improvement in storytelling methodology. A movie nerd by nature, Kim tends to watch different genres of movies, ranging from mainstream to arthouse films, which help broaden his perspective in his filmmaking journey.

Committed to the professional development of the next generation, Kim is also a freelance multimedia trainer with an Advanced Certification in Training and Assessment (ACTA).

AYDEEL JOHARI
Business Development | Writer/Director

As a young lad, Aydeel had always been intrigued by stage dramas and musicals, inspiring him to join his Primary School’s Drama Club. He acted in several stage plays, even representing his school at several events. It was a chance afternoon though in the early 1990s, in the visual library of the British Council at Napier Road, he came across Akira Kurosawa’s Seven Samurai and the exquisite art of filmmaking left its mark upon his soul. In the pursuit of understanding the art, he is able to appreciate all forms of filmmaking and is always trying to achieve visual narratives that are able to incite emotions.

An avid fan of the late Akira Kurosawa, Aydeel draws inspiration from the famed director’s works and philosophy on making great films.
